This notice explains what happens when you phone a business that uses Pickup Line, an AI answering service run by Ninjaneers Pty Ltd (ABN 68 697 870 643, ACN 697 870 643). Our Privacy Policy gives more detail.
What the assistant tells you
At the start of every call, before it asks for any details, the assistant tells you that it is an AI and that the call is recorded. You can tell the assistant at any time that you do not want to be recorded. Businesses must not remove, shorten or talk over this announcement.
If you stay on the line after the announcement and give your details, the call is recorded and handled as this notice describes.
What we record and keep
- A recording of the call.
- A written transcript.
- A short summary and the details you gave (such as your name, suburb or address, the job, how urgent it is, and the best time to call back).
The Privacy Policy sets out how long each is kept.
Who can hear or read it
- The business you called, through its Pickup Line account. Administrators of the business can read transcripts. Recording playback is not currently available in the portal. Other staff of the business see only structured details such as the callback request.
- Our staff, only to help with a support request from the business or to investigate a security or misuse issue.
- Our service providers, who process the call for us.
We do not use your call to train AI models. Not all of our service providers have confirmed this in writing, so we cannot guarantee it for every provider.
Where it is stored and processed
Recordings are held by our telephony and voice provider for the provider's default retention period. It does not guarantee where call audio is stored or processed, so it may be outside Australia. Calls and notes are processed by an artificial intelligence provider through a global service, which may be outside Australia.
If you do not want to be recorded
If you tell the assistant you do not want to be recorded, it notes your objection and the call is marked "do not listen or read". We then delete the transcript and summary of the call from our systems, and the business cannot see the call's transcript, summary or recording. Our telephony and voice provider's recording of the call is not stopped and is kept for the provider's default retention period. If you do not want to be recorded at all, hang up and contact the business another way, for example by text message or email. You can ask us to have the provider's recording deleted. We will update this notice before we change how this works.
Your information and your rights
You can ask the business, or us, to see, correct or delete what we hold about you. Our Privacy Policy explains how, and how to complain.
Emergencies
This is not an emergency line. If someone is in danger, call 000.
